Contact TeAndrea Burnett Tutoring

Have a question about scheduling, your child's needs, or how sessions work? Reach out directly — I respond to every message personally.

How to Reach Me

I keep contact simple. No contact forms that go nowhere, no call centers, no waiting on hold. When you message me, you hear from me directly — usually within 24–48 hours on school days.

Email: tburnett10342@gmail.com
This is the best way to reach me for booking questions, detailed questions about your child's needs, or anything that doesn't need an immediate answer.

WhatsApp: Message me on WhatsApp
Prefer a quick back-and-forth? WhatsApp works well for short questions about availability, session format, or next steps.

YouTube: Watch me teach on YouTube
If you want to see my teaching style before reaching out, my YouTube channel shows real instruction — not a highlight reel.

LinkedIn: Connect on LinkedIn
For educators, teachers, or professional inquiries.

What to Include in Your First Message

The more context you give me upfront, the faster I can give you a useful answer. When you email or message, try to include:

  • Your child's grade level — I specialize in kindergarten through 3rd grade.
  • The main concern — reading fluency, phonics, comprehension, math facts, word problems, or general catch-up.
  • Session format preference — in-person at Troy Elementary School, in-person at the Troy Public Library, or virtual via Google Meet.
  • Days and times that work for your family — I'll check my availability and respond with open slots.
  • Any accommodations or considerations — IEP, 504, sensory needs, learning differences, or anything that helps me teach your child well from session one.

You don't need to have everything figured out before you reach out. If you're not sure what your child needs, just describe what you're seeing — "she skips words when reading," "he freezes on math tests," "she knows her letters but can't blend." I can take it from there.

Common Questions Before First Contact

How much does a session cost?

Sessions are $25 per hour. Payment is via Cash App after booking. No prepaid packages required — you book session by session. See the full details on the tutoring services page.

Do you offer a free intro call?

Yes. If you want to talk through your child's needs before committing to a session, I offer a free intro call. You can schedule that on the booking page — just select the intro call option.

How quickly will I hear back?

I respond within 24–48 hours on school days. If you message on a weekend or holiday, expect a reply the next business day. I do not use automated replies — when you hear from me, it's me.

What if my child has an IEP or 504?

Please include that information when you reach out or when you fill out the booking form. Knowing about your child's plan helps me adapt pacing, instructions, and practice formats before we even start. I've worked with students who have a wide range of learning profiles and I take that context seriously.

Can I observe a session?

Yes, especially for a first session. Many parents want to see how their child responds before deciding to continue. I'll let you know what works best logistically depending on whether we're meeting in-person or virtually.

Do you work with students outside Troy, AL?

Virtual sessions are available to any family, anywhere. In-person sessions are currently limited to Troy, Alabama — Troy Elementary School and the Troy Public Library.

Not Sure If Tutoring Is the Right Fit?

That's a fair question and I'd rather you ask it than guess. Tutoring is the right next step when a child is showing consistent gaps that classroom instruction isn't closing — especially in reading and math in K-3, where early intervention has the highest return. Research by Juel (1988) found that children who struggle with reading in first grade have a 90% chance of still struggling in fourth grade without targeted support. The window matters.

If you're unsure, tell me what you're seeing. I'll be direct about whether I think I can help and what that help would look like. I don't oversell sessions — I want your child to make real progress or I want to tell you honestly if a different kind of support would serve them better.
